As World cup fever took over the nation, we just felt like we had to get involved and taste a bit of the action! All the while, scoring goals for charity as we went.....
A bunch of Camps Bay establishments, namely Blues Restaurant, Sapphire cocktail bar, St. Yves night club, the Hussar Grill and of course CTA, met up to play a little bit of footie in the name of the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
It was a beautiful day, the views were magnificent, and the cause amicable but boys being boys, as we all stepped onto the field everyone wanted to win and there was some fun yet competitive soccer enjoyed by all.

We got into the Semi-finals where we faced St. Yves who we had beaten earlier, however, they drafted a new goalie that made them more formidable. What was a closely contested game saw us lose in the final moments of the game to a lapse in concentration and a great finish.
St. Yves went on to beat sapphire in the final and were crowned champions, but in truth I like to believe the children were winners as this little event managed to raise R8500 through entrance fees and donations.
