Our friends from La Med have come up with a cool idea for students, check this good deal out!

  La med Free ride

La Med and Malibu (Pernod Ricard) are together introducing a free Shuttle Service for UCT students in order to promote not drinking and driving and still getting your island on. As La Med is famous for its Sunday parties the shuttles will run every Sunday for 6 weeks as follows:

February:     28th

March:         7th & 14th  (The 21st & the 28th will be excluded)

April:             4th , 11th , & 18th

The Shuttles will leave Lower Campus (Tugwell) from 6pm – 10pm in the afternoon and the last bus leaves La Med at 2am.

The La Med Shuttle is a two-way service, so don’t expect to hop on at La Med if you didn’t come from UCT, return tickets are handed out on the busses. Gwynneth Muller, La Med’s general manager explains: “We do this to ensure that every student who decided to avoid drinking and driving and use our shuttles will have safe passage home and will not be left without a seat when they decide to return to UCT.”

La Med owns summer in Cape Town and with exceptionally beautiful views of both ocean and mountain we are renowned as one of the ultimate sundowners spots. La Med invites UCT students to hop on the free shuttle, join us for a cocktail or two and get a lift back to UCT without the fear of being caught under the influence behind the wheel. We ask everyone to please support the service – so if you know any UCT students encourage them to try out the shuttles instead of risking drinking and driving around town.

What may seem like a mellow start to the evening can quickly change into a full swing party at La Med as the DJ’s turn up the music and the barman mix up the drinks.
