I have some good news today, after a very long wait, we are due to launch the new Cape Town Alive. We will be releasing the new version on the 8th of February 2010.
To allow us to perform this task properly, we will be offline for the weekend of the 5th - 7th of February 2010.
What will be new you ask? Well, the website content and functionality will stay the same (yet be upgraded, refreshed and tweaked in its own way), so what you like about the website will not be lost! Basically we have taken the whole visual appearance, user experience and navigation throughout the site and transformed it into what we feel will make the overall experience more pleasant.
We have taken a lot of time to listen to people over the last while and had some of our most loyal members give us feedback and criticism on many parts of the website because at the end of the day, the website is for you the user, not for us!
I will briefly go into some of the new and exciting things the new version will include, as most of it we want you to go around and explore! :)
- Complete city guide element of the website overhauled and started from scratch
- Visual appearance, user experience and overall experience overhauled
- Simple, logical menu navigation and less redundant areas of the website
- Community has been made even more interactive and social
- Content will be more structured and executed better
Those points are broad, but they get across the message that we have taken all elements of the website into consideration for v20.10
We saw fit to call the 'codename' for this release v20.10 for pretty obvious reasons.
We look forward to seeing you on the new and improved Cape Town Alive and hope to hear back what you think!
